gymnasiums, classrooms, assembly halls, big stages, libraries and closets.

We don’t only meet our audience from our performances, we also hold workshops with educational orientation and projects with “Skapande Skola”. Our most common concept is that we perform one of our shows and then hold a workshop afterwards based on a theme from the play, sometimes from specific wishes or needs. We also have the opportunity to arrange skills development and inspiration for teachers who want to work creatively.  You can read more about this under Courses/Education. To some of our performances we also include some educational material that  offers different ways to continue working with the themes of that specific play in the classroom.

“Skapande Skola” is a government grant that the schools can apply for through Kulturrådet and is a good possibility for the schools to offer their students more experience of culture. Workshops

Every group that we meet is unique which

means that all of our workshops are fitted to

that group, just like our performances are fitted

to the audience we meet.

We don’t have a finished template that we use every workshop, what we do have is a very particular set of skills, skills we have acquired over a very long career. To quote Liam Neeson…

By skills we mean that we have a bunch of exercises and experience which makes it easy for us to tailor a workshop for your group specifically.   

What is common in our workshops however is our way of working. We work most of all with storytelling, in other words we don’t use anything except our own bodies and our imagination. We train our creativity through improvisation, cooperation and humour

Example how a workshop could look like:

• Two workshops with a class of fourth grade students and cooperation and contact as a theme.

Vi start our first meeting by getting to know the group through games and exercises that gives the group the opportunity to create together. We work creatively with play at the center yet also with concentration and focus by doing challenging exercises that demands collaboration. The group is given the chanse to create scenes and show for the rest of the group in smaller constellations.

For our second meeting we start to work in bigger constellations so that the participants get to create their own versions of a story they know. The group gets to work in the same way we in Teater Imba create our performances, on the floor through improvisation and play. We finish by making a common story where all the students participates and show each other.  

• A workshop for sixth grade for one hour  with body language as theme.

We start with a simple name exercise that also involve movement and memory. We then continue with exercises that involves concentration and communication without words to explore what we actually have available through our body language. We then kickstart the creativity with games to finally give the group a chance to learn a magic trick. We use the time we have to learn the technique and use what we have learned so far as a focus for body control and show our progress for each other. 

So these are some examples of how a workshop can look and how it is adapted to the target group. We can therefore offer workshops to all age groups, preschool, elementary, high school, adults and groups with special needs.

Preschool: 4.000 SEK (max 40 min/workshop)
Grade 1-4: 5.000 SEK (max 90 min/workshop)
Grade 5-9: 6.000 kr (max 120 min/workshop)
Adults: according to agreement

These are the prices we usually start from, prices can be adjustet based on arrengement and agreement as for example in combination with a performance or wishes of content.
